Dune Universal Pictures Despite its abysmal reputation — and Lynch’s own sadness about how the final film turned out – this adaptation of Frank Herbert’s epic science fiction novel has its strong points. The set design is stylish and lived in, the costumes and casting are excellent, and the effects largely hold up.
