The Now Trailer: There’s A Roku Channel Original From The Farrelly Brothers Featuring Bill Murray
The Roku Channel By Shania Russell/Dec. 10, 2021 8:26 pm EST
Before Quibi so tragically shuttered its doors, the short-form streamer greenlit a Farrelly Brothers series described as a “suicide comedy.” That’s a lot to unpack, I know, but life comes at you fast. So was the subject of this planned series, which would star Dave Franco as a man learning to focus on his present by figuring out what makes life worth living.
Plans for the series were seemingly scrapped when Quibi died seven months after its launch, and its remains were dusted over to Roku. As it turns out, Roku wanted to keep the dream alive, and lo and behold, we have a trailer for “The Now,” an original series debuting today on The Roku Channel. Yes, today! Evidently, this series title is no joke, the Farrelly Brothers are all about the present now. Franco is joined by a stacked cast, including O’Shea Jackson Jr., Jimmy Tatro, and Daryl Hannah in starring roles, with recurring appearances from Bill Murray, Peter Davidson, and Alyssa Milano. You can check out the new trailer below!

“I wanted to make a show about living in the present because I personally have lived too much in the future and the past and I think a lot of people do. We worry about the future, and we have regrets about the past, yet we are only ever living in the now. The future and the past are just concepts, but all life takes place in the present. If you want to make changes in your life you have to make them in the now.”
